Perimeter Behavioral of the Ozarks is in Springdale Arkansas, located in the beautiful Northwest part of the state, in the foothills of the Ozark Mountains and just outside of Fayetteville. The community is diverse and friendly and is welcoming to our residents. Our facility is small in size which allows for a strong family-like culture that is shared among residents and staff.

Derek has been working with youth who have traumatic life experiences and problematic behaviors since 2010. He received his bachelor’s degree in Family and Child Development at Southern Virginia University in Buena Vista Virginia, and his master’s degree in Counseling Psychology at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo Michigan and became a licensed therapist. Derek worked as a therapist at a residential facility that served boys and girls ages 12-18 years old and developed adolescent sex offender specific programming at the facility to more appropriately meet the resident’s treatment needs. He then transitioned to the role of Clinical Director of a 60-bed adolescent sex offender treatment facility in Mountain Home Idaho where he continued program development and ensured that the residents received best practice treatment. Prior to coming to Perimeter of the Ozarks, he worked in New York in a community clinic as a Sex Offender Treatment Specialist. It was during this time that he received additional training in Trauma Informed Care practices as well as in Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics which looks at effects of trauma on an individual throughout the lifespan. Derek is licensed as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and will be obtaining licensure in Arkansas as a Licensed Professional Counselor. His favorite part of his job is seeing the personal growth that a resident experiences when they learn effective new ways to respond to life events, and that life does not have to be what it was. That who they are, and who they will become is not yet written. That it is in their power to decide how their story ends. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family. He also likes golfing, fishing, and most outdoor activities.

Erin started in healthcare in 1999. She completed her ASN in 2001 from Cox College and continued with her BSN in 2006 from Southwest Baptist University. Erin earned her MSN in education in 2011 from Liberty University, Family Nurse Practitioner in 2013 from Missouri State University and her Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in 2017 from the University of Cincinnati. Erin greatly enjoys working in a fast-paced environment with children and adolescents. This setting allows her to be challenged daily and to provide patient centered care that is individualized based on every client’s interaction. She feels fortunate to be supported by a team of experts in their own field, which allows her to provide care to those who are truly the most vulnerable, the children and adolescents in our local community. In her spare time, Erin enjoys the outdoors, baking and cooking. She is also very busy following her children who play year-round sports. Traveling is also something she likes to do, and her favorite spot is any place hot and with a beach!

Trevor began his nursing career in 2019 after graduating from the nursing program at the University of Arkansas where he received his Bachelor of Science in Nursing and became a registered nurse in the state. He started at Perimeter as a Youth Care Worker and became a nurse at the facility once he received his license. Trevor is also a certified SAMA instructor. What Trevor enjoys the most about working with the youth at Perimeter of the Ozarks is being able to see the drastic changes with the residents and by helping them navigate their challenges with our trauma informed care program. When not working with the residents at the facility, Trevor enjoys spending time and biking with his wife and taking their two four legged friends to the dog park. He also enjoys playing the piano and bass guitar.

Raymon has been working in behavioral health and residential care for over 30 years. He was introduced to this arena when he took a job as a maintenance tech in a boy’s farm program in Missouri. He completed his undergraduate degree in secondary education from the University of Northern Iowa and completed his master’s in social work at the University of Missouri. The most rewarding part of being a therapist is the spark that appears when a child or adolescent realizes that someone views them as a person with unique human value and not damaged goods. I loved it in the past when I would run into a former client in the mall pushing a stroller with children in their arms who made it a point to stop me and tell me how they are doing. In his spare time, Raymon loves the outdoors especially backpacking, hiking, camping, and cycling. He is also an avid guitar player and spends as much time as he can with his grandchildren.
