The OakRidge Behavioral Center is a family-centered treatment environment designed to treat the acute mental and behavioral health needs of children ages 6 to 17 years old who suffer from depression, anxiety, mood swings, substance abuse or suicidal or homicidal thoughts. Our highly skilled multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, social workers, psychiatric nurses, and chaplains provide crisis stabilization for patients whose acute psychiatric symptoms require 24-hour supervision in a safe and structured therapeutic setting. This program is designed to foster the child's ability to successfully return home and to school. Also, our clinical team will assist in the patient's transition to an outpatient or residential mental health provider to ensure continuity of care when returning to the community. Our unit was designed to be a child-friendly and stimulating environment for our young patients to receive care.

The OakRidge Senior Care Unit provides acute inpatient care for senior adults who experience sudden life changes and stressors that trigger depression, anxiety, dementia and other behavioral challenges that impair their daily activities. The senior care unit offers a state-of-the-art facility and large group therapy areas. The program also provides holistic, age-appropriate therapy that aids in stabilizing acute symptoms and fosters a geriatric adult's ability to cope with the losses and changes of life. Our program teaches coping strategies, and techniques for building supportive relationships. The OakRidge clinical team will also help families develop a customized treatment plan that emphasizes recovery, wellness, and optimal functioning in their home and community.

Patients will participate in daily activities that are designed to raise awareness of the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. We also provide the following support services.

  • Group therapy
  • Individual therapy
  • Substance abuse education
  • Family sessions and parent education
  • Semi-private rooms
  • Life skills-building
  • Daily gym recreation time
  • Discharge planning to support transition back to their home and community.
